NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The NJIT women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 road loss at Rutgers Friday afternoon at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.

Rutgers earned the doubles point with wins at second and third spots and swept the singles competition for the 7-0 win.
Junior Laura Wipfli, competing at first singles, dropped a hard fought match against Mai Nguyen, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5.
Junior Paula Menendez Alvarez went the distance at the second spot, coming up short against Minchae Kim, 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 10-7.
At the sixth spot, sophomore Feyza Aydin picked up a 6-3 win in the first frame but Naomi Karki finished the match 6-2, 6-4 to earn the win.

NJIT will open its 2025 campaign at home on February 1 vs. Lafayette (4pm) and Sunday, February 2 vs. FDU (10am) inside The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
