NEW YORK, N.Y. - The NJIT track and field team will travel to Ocean Breeze Complex for the Gotham Cup on Friday, with competition starting at noon.

Zaidah Lightener earned the America East Women's Rookie of the Week on Dec. 17 after setting a program record for the second consecutive meet. She posted a college-best triple jump of 11.74m to finish third at the Seahawk Shootout. Her triple jump mark ranks fourth in the America East and is the top performance by any freshman. Lightener also ranks third in the conference in the long jump, with a program-record mark of 5.72m at the Rutgers Holiday Classic.

Pietro Carpentari earned the America East Men's Rookie of the Week on Dec. 17 after breaking the 600m school record at the Seahawk Shootout. He had a personal-best time of 1:21.31. He posted a 4x400m relay final leg time of 48.94, which would rank fourth in the America East.

Raegan Bossard recorded a college-best triple jump of 11.46m at the Rutgers Holiday Classic, ranking fifth in the America East.

Ryan Nartey (13.92m) and
Marvellous Bassey (13.90m) rank fifth and sixth in the America East for the triple jump.

Jeusten Jourdain ranks sixth in the America East in the 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 8.56 at the Rutgers Holiday Classic.

Nia Holloway posted a 60m time of 7.80 at the Rutgers Holiday Classic, which ranks ninth in the America East.

Andrew Sabeh recorded a personal-best weight throw of 15.65m at the Rutgers Holiday Classic, ranking ninth in the America East and second-best in program history.
