In addition to the traditional 16-game America East Conference schedule beginning in January 2025, NJIT will square off against 13 non-conference foes in November and December.
"There are a slew of familiar foes on our non-conference portion of the schedule as we match up with nine opponents from last season," added Lane. "We are excited to add in-state rival games with Monmouth and Rutgers. Also new to the schedule are the Coppin State Eagles. Lastly, we make a trip to Fort Myers to take on former conference opponent and reigning ASUN champion Florida Gulf Coast. This schedule of 13 teams spread among seven different conferences will prepare us well for America East play."
The 2024 season opens up with a road game at Saint Francis U on November 4. This will mark the second all-time meeting between the two schools. NJIT defeated the Red Flash on December 15, 2024 in Newark, 68-41.
NJIT will welcome Hofstra on November 8 in the home opener inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
On November 10, the Highlanders will head down the turnpike and face Rutgers for the second all-time meeting.
NJIT will return to Newark and host Sacred Heart on November 13. The Pioneers captured the NEC Championship in back-to-back seasons and will begin its first campaign in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

NJIT and Army West Point tip-off on November 20 and the Highlanders will visit Merrimack for the first time on the road on November 23. NJIT and Merrimack first met last season with the Highlanders coming out on top 48-45 in the 2023 home opener.
Prior to Thanksgiving, NJIT will host Lafayette on November 26 inside the WEC.
The month of December begins on the road at nearby Saint Peter's on December 1.

To close out the 2024 non-conference slate, NJIT will play a pair of games on the road–at Wagner on December 12 and at LIU on December 30.
America East Conference play begins on January 2, hosting Binghamton. The first road contest for the Highlanders in league play will be on January 9 when the Highlanders visit the Retrievers from UMBC.
"There are an abundance of new faces in the America East this season - new head coaches at Binghamton, New Hampshire and UMBC plus the new players added from the transfer portal and of course the new class of freshmen that dot rosters throughout the league," added Lane. "We have six newcomers ourselves. No one here in Newark was happy with our conference results last season, it was a winter of discontent, so now is the time to prove we are better than we were, and better than what many may think we are."
For the remainder of January, NJIT will host three conference opponents in Newark–UMass Lowell (Jan. 11), Vermont (Jan. 23) and UAlbany (Jan. 25) and play four on the road–at defending America East Champions Maine (Jan. 16), New Hampshire (Jan. 18) and UMass Lowell (Jan. 30).
