Men’s Tennis Moves Back into Win Column with Road Win at #57 Delaware

DOVER, DE–The NJIT men's tennis team moved back into the win column Saturday afternoon with a 4-2 road win over #57 Delaware in men's tennis action at the DFH Outdoor Courts.

"What a day for our guys and NJIT Men's Tennis," said third-year head coach Marco Matteucci.  "Delaware has had a great year and this win is what we needed to keep the momentum going into the Conference Tournament."

Delaware earned the doubles point, with wins at first and third singles.

Junior German Lopez Andujar got things started for visiting NJIT, earning the first singles point at the sixth spot with a 6-2, 6-3 straight set win.

Redshirt sophomore Pablo Perez Ramos was victorious at first singles, registering a 7-5, 1-6, 6-0 victory.

Sophomore Pavel Petrov battled out a three set tilt at fourth singles, coming out on top, 6-3, 2-6, 6-0.

Junior Oscar Callo von Platen clinched the match for the Highlanders at fifth singles, posting a 4-6, 6-2 and 7-6 (9-7) victory to lead NJIT to a 4-2 road victory over #57 Delaware.

NJIT will wrap up its home slate next week, April 10, hosting NYU at 4pm on Senior Day inside The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
