MADISON, NJ–The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams turned its attention to postseason, competing at the 2024 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships Saturday hosted by Drew University.
Four Highlanders – Dominika Pawlowska (Epee), Allen Trudnos (Saber), Adrian Figueredo (Saber) and Niels Roubailo (Epee) each turned in top 10 performances in their respective weapons.
Leading the way for the Highlanders was graduate student Dominika Pawlowska, recording an eighth place finish in the women's epee competition.
NJIT's Trudnos and Figueredo finished side by side in the men's saber competition, registering eighth and ninth respectively.
Roubailo rounded out the top 10 in the men's epee competition to pace the Highlanders.

A fencer's performance at regionals will have a direct impact on their chance at qualifying for the NCAA Championship, as both the regular season resumé and placing at the regional meet will be considered when the field is selected next week.
