Miller, Brown Earn America East Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

NEWARK, N.J. — For the first time in the program's America East history, multiple members of the NJIT men's lacrosse team were recognized for their efforts with America East weekly accolades.

Senior attack Arthur Miller and graduate goalkeeper Liam Brown were respectively named America East Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Miller and Brown powered the Highlanders to a season-opening 10-8 road victory over St. John's on February 3, the program's first ever over a BIG EAST opponent and first to begin a campaign since 2020.

Miller netted a career-high five goals and added five ground balls and a caused turnover, marking the third time in his career that he has scored at least three goals in a game. It was also the first five-goal outing by a Highlander since Corry's five goal showing at UMass Lowell on March 27, 2021 - for which Corry earned NJIT's first-ever AE weekly award.

Brown made 20 saves against St. John's, extending his current streak of double-digit save games to 14 and recording the sixth 20+ save performance of his career - both dating back to the 2023 season opener at Siena. With 570 career saves, Brown is also closing in on the school record for career saves, currently held by former Highlander Nick Marzullo (579 from 2015-18)

NJIT now has five all-time America East weekly honors (3 Offensive, 1 Defensive, 1 Rookie) since joining the America East in July 2020.

The Highlanders will return to action on Saturday, February 10 at 1 p.m. for the 2024 home opener against Siena.
