Men's Swimming And Diving Grab Medal On Day 1 Of America East Championships

LEXINGTON, Va. — NJIT's fourth-ever America East Swimming and Diving Championships got underway on Wednesday evening at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Aquatic Center.

After three men's events - the 800 Free Relay, 3 Meter Diving, and the 200 Medley Relay - the Highlanders sit in fifth place with 52 points.

DAY 1 RESULTS

The 800 Free Relay quartet of Francois Malherbe, Laith Sabbah, Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar and Zac Kuzak earned the first hardware of the meet, earning silver with a time of 6:42.35 (34 pts).
Aiden Ban qualified for the finals in the 3 meter dive with the fifth-highest prelims score (265.65) and stayed in fifth overall after the finals with a score of 229.70 (14 pts)
Kristopher Fritsch added 4 points to the Highlander tally after finishing 13th in the 3 meter (173.90)
