NEWARK, NJ–NJIT tandem Irene Cocero and Laura Wipfli concluded play at the 2024 ITA Masters Championships on Thursday, November 7.

Cocero and Wipfli competed against Illinois double pair Megan Heuser and Alice Xu in the round of 32, falling  6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (9)

How It Happened
Cocero and Wipfli were crowned Southland Conference Doubles Champions at the 2024 Southland Conference Individual Tennis Championships hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University on October 27.

ITA Masters Championships
The individual champions will qualify for the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship Nov. 7-10. From this, four players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists). Meanwhile, three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).
