Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, N.J. — Junior Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar was recently named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District team.

The award, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's swimming and diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late March.

A native of Cumberland, R.I., Horstkamp-Vinekar was recently named the America East Elite 18 award winner for men's swimming and diving as the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the final site of one of the conference's 18 team championships. The junior Chemical Engineering major currently boasts a 4.00 cumulative GPA and brought his program-leading America East Championships career medal count to 16 (5 G, 6 S, 5 B) with four at the 2023 championship meet. Horstkamp-Vinekar claimed two silvers (100 Back, 200 Fly) and two bronzes (800 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay) at the 2023 Championships.
