Biography
2022-23: America East Elite 18 Winner as the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the final site of one of the conference's 18 team championships, College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District and Inaugural CSC Academic All-America...improved his program-leading America East Championships career medal count to 16 (5 G, 6 S, 5 B) with four at the 2023 championship meet (claimed two silvers (100 Back, 200 Fly) and two bronzes (800 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay) at the 2023 Championships)...ended season as school record holder in seven events: 100/200 Back, 200 Fly, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and 800 Free Relay.
2021-22: America East Winter Scholar Athlete...AE All-Academic selection...earned five medals (2 individual, 3 relay) at the 2022 America East Championships, including a gold in the 100 back with a meet record time of 48.52 - a record previously held by former Olympian and UMBC swimmer Mohamed Hussein...also posted the top finish for NJIT at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, an eighth place swim in the 200 Fly that also set a new school record.
2020-21: Competed in all four of NJIT's meets...named America East Most Outstanding Rookie of the Meet after claiming seven medals (4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) at the America East Swimming Championships (200 Medley Relay - Gold; 800 Free Relay - Gold; 100 Fly - Silver; 400 Medley Relay - Bronze; 200 Back - Gold; 200 Fly - Gold; 400 Free Relay - Silver)...won four events (100 Fly, 400 Medley Relay, 200 Fly, 200 Backstroke) against Binghamton on Mar. 21...current holder of seven school records: 200 Back (1:46.00), 100 Fly (49.38), 200 Fly (1:47.50), 200 Medley Relay (1:30.55), 400 Free Relay (3:04.60), 400 Medley Relay (3:18.96), and 800 Free Relay (6:43.75)...named America East Male Swimmer of the Week on Mar. 24.
Prior to NJIT: Competed at Cumberland for head coach Roderick McGarry...Rhode Island State Champion in the 100 backstroke and butterfly...New England age group champion in the 100 butterfly...also swam club for Bluefish Swim Club and coach Chuck Batchelor
