CHARLOTTE, NC–Saint Francis U recorded a 3-1 victory over NJIT behind a .307 hitting percentage in non-conference men's volleyball action over spring break for both teams.

The Red Flash registered its third straight win, improving to 7-10 on the season while NJIT moves to 7-11.

Earlier this season in Newark, NJIT swept the Red Flash, 3-0, on February 3.

NJIT took a 1-0 lead behind a 30-28 victory in the first frame but Saint Francis U rallied over the next three sets (25-20, 25-14 and 25-13) to earn the 3-1 win.

Saint Francis U Blake Liprando led the match with 14 kills for a .400 hitting percentage followed by 13 kills from Andrew Deardorff.

The Red Flash held a 10-to-3 advantage in team blocks paced by Brandon Dunz with seven total blocks (one solo, six assists) and 6-1 in the service ace category led by a pair of aces from Liprando.

NJIT graduate student Jens Feldthus posted a team-best 10 kills followed by Antonio Feliciano (9) and Andrew Fedmasu (6).  Setter Griffin Fieseler notched 19 assists and Feldthus led the Highlanders with seven digs.

The Highlanders will conclude its three-match spring break trip on Friday, March 17 at Queens U.  First spike is scheduled for 5pm.
