NEW YORK, N.Y. — The NJIT track and field teams returned to The Armory in Manhattan Saturday evening for the second day of the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open.

The highlight of the second day was the quartet of Grace Burke, Lucia Julvez, Sydne Nance and Maddie Stevens resetting the school record in the 4x400 Relay by over a second. The previous mark of 3:56.62 (Burke/Nance/Stuti Vyas/Nadia Zhecheva) set at last year's ECAC/IC4A meet was beaten with a fifth place run of 3:55.49. The run puts the Highlanders third overall on the America East performance list heading into this month's Indoor Championships.

Katherine Castano also reset her own 3000 meters record by nearly 12 seconds, going from 10:32.32 last weekend to 10:20.95 on Saturday. Castano now holds the school marks in the Mile, 3000, and 5000.

Here are the ten performances from the two-day meet that put NJIT within the AE Top 20s: The full America East Performance List can be found here: https://www.tfrrs.org/lists/3949/America_East_Indoor_Performance_List
