Track and Field Breaks Two Records On Day One Of Scarlet Knights Open

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The NJIT track and field teams started another two-day weekend on Friday afternoon, taking part in the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open at The Armory in Manhattan. The Highlanders had a split contingent but still produced some quality performances on the opening day.

SCHOOL RECORDS

Katherine Castano: 5000 meters (18:20.01; broke Ewelina Marut's ten-year old record of 18:22.96 in the same month (2/1/2013) in the same facility.
4x200 Relay (Elisha Bugasch, Lossenie Fofana, Jordan Lee, Jacob Leigh): 1:29.20; broke the school record set earlier this season - 1:29.35, 1/13/2023).
