BOSTON–Freshman Maximus Barboto picked up his second America East Conference Rookie of the Week honor, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Barboto registered his third assist of the season at Iona on September 6.  For the season, Barboto has tallied an assist in the last three out of four matches for NJIT (at James Madison; August 28, at UConn; September 2 at Iona).

The award is the second America East weekly honor of Barboto's career, NJIT's second weekly award and the sixth overall honor for the program since joining the America East in July 2020.

NJIT will continue its season opening seven-match road swing on Wednesday, September 14 at Big East opponent Villanova.  Kickoff will be slated for 4pm on FloSports.  This will mark the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
