LoGrasso’s Second Half Goal Lifts NJIT to 1-0 Road Win


NEW BRITAIN, CT–Junior midfielder Cristian LoGrasso's second half goal lifted the Highlanders to a 1-0 road win at CCSU in men's soccer non-conference action at CCSU Soccer Field.

NJIT improves to 2-3-2 on the season, registering its first road win of the 2025 season while CCSU still in search of its first win of the season moves to 0-4-1.

How It Happened
The Highlanders tallied the first goal of the match in the 50th minute for a 1-0 advantage.  Junior Alvaro Heredia worked his way through the Blue Devils defense and got a shot off that was saved by the CCSU goalkeeper Grady Wilson but NJIT's LoGrasso rebounded the ball inside the box and fired a shot into the back of the net.  


Noteworthy
–LoGrasso's goal was the first of the 2025 season and second of his career.
–Heredia was credited with the assist, the first of the season.
Devin Armstrong played the full 90 minutes in goal, making one save and recording the clean sheet, his fourth of the season (T, 0-0 UConn, W, 1-0 Rider, T, 0-0 Saint Peter's, W, 1-0 CCSU).
–NJIT outshot CCSU 22-to-13 in overall shots (11-to-1 SOG).  The Highlanders held a huge advantage in the first half, outshooting the Blue Devils 14-to-4.
–The 22 total shots for NJIT is a season-high (21 shots in a 0-0 scoreless draw against Saint Peter's).
Diogo Rebelo led the Highlanders with six total shots (three on goal).
–Four different Highlanders – LoGrasso, Heredia, Junee Lee and Kyle Dixon each combined for three shots.
–NJIT leads the all-time series, 2-1-2, earning back-to-back victories over the Blue Devils (1-0; Sept. 16, 2025; 4-0; Sept. 18, 2024).
