NEWARK, N.J. --- The NJIT men's swimming and diving program was one of 731 teams from 441 institutions to be named Scholar All-America for Spring 2022 by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Highlanders earned a team grade point average of 3.4 during the spring while finishing third overall at the America East Swimming Championships for the second straight season. NJIT placed three student-athletes on the America East All-Academic team (Joshua Franco, Edward Madrigal, and Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar) and Franco (AE Presidential Scholar-Athlete) and Horstkamp-Vinekar (AE Winter Scholar Athlete) picked up additional academic awards during the Spring campaign.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
