Vyas, Leign Set School Marks To Open ECAC/IC4A Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, VA — The NJIT track and field teams traveled down to William & Mary for the ECAC/IC4A Championships, being held at W&M's Zable Stadium.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

Two Highlanders combined to reset a trio of NJIT school records on the opening day of the meet.
Stuti Vyas added a pair of school records on Saturday, breaking her own mark in the 800 meters from the America East Championships (2:17.50) with a new best of 2:17.27 and shaving nearly nine seconds from the old 1500 meters record (4:48.72) by running a 4:39.89.
Jacob Leigh broke the longtime 100 meters school record (10.68, 2014) and qualified for Sunday's finals with an eighth place time of 10.57.
The 4x100 quartet of Ndubuisi Obi, Hamza Qureshi, Andre Henry and Leigh ran a season best time (42.24) and narrowly missed qualifying for Sunday's finals by .01 seconds.

SUNDAY'S EVENTS
The ECAC/IC4A Championships will conclude on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m., with action in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, 110m and 400m hurdles, 4x400m and 4x800m relay, pole vault, high jump, triple jump, and discus.
