Men's Lacrosse Battles Hard, Falls Short Against No. 15 Lehigh

NEWARK, N.J. —  In its 2022 home opener, the NJIT men's lacrosse team put up a tremendous fight against No. 15 Lehigh before ultimately falling to the Mountain Hawks, 10-5, Saturday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Gage Adams was among the Highlanders' team leaders on offense for the second time in as many career games for the freshman. The newcomer, along with teammate Gavyn Willson, led NJIT with a pair of goals and an assist for three total points apiece. Transfer Arthur Miller added the team's other goal.
  • Collin Fogerty assisted on two of NJIT's goals, logging multiple assists for the 11th time in his career and extending his current point streak to 11 games, dating back to last season's first game vs Binghamton (Mar. 6, 2021).
  • Owen Corry recorded NJIT's other assist on the day.
  • Isaac Vanzomeren gathered three ground balls, three faceoff wins and a caused turnover against the Mountain Hawks.
  • Liam Brown caused a game-high two turnovers while also stopping 20 shots. The 20 saves were one shy of his career best of 21 from NJIT's 2020 meeting with a ranked Lehigh team (Feb. 22).
