Women's Soccer Slotted Eighth In America East Preseason Poll

NEWARK, N.J. --- The America East Conference has released its 2021 preseason coaches' poll and the NJIT women's soccer team has been tabbed by the league's coaches to finish in a tie for eighth place.

The Highlanders will be playing their first fall season as a member of the America East after joining the conference on July 1, 2020 and playing the 2020 campaign in Spring 2021. 
Stony Brook was named the unanimous choice to repeat as women's soccer champions for the second year in a row.

NJIT opens the 2021 season on Thursday, August 19 at St. John's and will play at home for the first time on Sunday, August 22 against Monmouth. The Highlanders' first America East game of 2021 sends the team to UMass Lowell on September 19 while Maine will travel to Newark on September 26 for NJIT's first AE home match of the year.

NJIT completed the 2020 season with a 2-6-1 (0-5-1 AE) record and will bring back 21 returners from the 2020 campaign along with seven freshmen and one transfer
