Owen Corry Named To USILA Team Of The Week

NEWARK, N.J. --- Sophomore Owen Corry has been honored by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) by being named to the USILA / Dynamic Division I Team of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday. The USILA recognizes ten players for posting exceptional performances in their programs games over the past week.

Corry, who was also named America East Offensive Player of the Week this week, led the Highlanders in the program's first-ever conference win over UMass Lowel on March 27 with a career-high seven points (5 G, 2 A). Corry's five goals tied teammate Gavyn Willson (Hampton, Feb. 1, 2020) and former Highlander Aaron Forster (No. 5 Rutgers, Mar. 17, 2017) for the third-highest goal scoring performance in NJIT history and his seven points matched alum Ryan Callaghan's effort (3 G, 4 A; at Hampton, April 15, 2017) for fourth-most in Highlander history.

The USILA honor is the first for NJIT since Aaron Forster was recognized by the organization on March 6, 2019 after an 11-point outing against Quinnipiac.
