Molly Saylor Named America East Defensive Player Of The Week

NEWARK, N.J. --- Redshirt sophomore Molly Saylor has been tabbed as the America East Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Saylor made four saves and helped the Highlanders shutout Wagner, 1-0, on February 28. The win moved NJIT to 2-0 for the first time since 2016 and gave Saylor her fifth career shutout. After two games, Saylor leads the America East in saves (7) and is tied for the conference lead in goals against average (.000),

Saylor's award gives the Highlanders three total weekly accolades in its first two weeks competing as a member of the America East after freshman Corbin Reifschneider was named Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week after NJIT's season opening win over Drexel on February 21.

New Hampshire claimed the week's other two awards - Whitney Wiley as Offensive Player of the week and Kelly Alivia as Rookie of the Week.
