COLUMBUS, OH--In the first competition in almost 11 months, the NJIT women's fencing team started the 2021 season off strong on the first day of the Ohio State Invitational. 

The women went 3-1 on the day with a number of strong individual performances, including wins over Air Force (15-12), Denison (24-3) and Wayne State (13-5) while the men finished 0-2-1 with a close decision against Air Force (13-14), a (9-9) tie against Wayne State and tough battle against Notre Dame (8-19). 

NJIT will return back to the strip again on Sunday for the final day of the Ohio State Invitational. Both men and women will go up against Duke, Wayne State and host Ohio State. First match of the day will start at 8 a.m. from French Field House.
