FAIRFIELD, CT--The NJIT women's fencing team picked up a pair of wins against Vassar (15-12) and host Sacred Heart (17-10) at the Tradition Invitational close out the 2021 season Sunday afternoon.
The women's epee squad led the way on Sunday, combining for a 31-14 overall record (winning percentage of 69%). Paula Zugasti paced the squad with an 11-4 mark (winning percentage of 73%) while Marina Arrese and Dominika Pawlowska each finished with a 10-5 record (winning percentage of 67%).
In women's saber, Cassandra Sehic posted nine wins while in women's foil competition, Paloma Almodovar posted eight wins for the Highlanders.
With the 2021 season coming to a close, the NJIT women will return back to action in the New Year, competing at the Philadelphia Invitational on January 22-23.
