NEW YORK--The NJIT women's fencing team went 1-1 at the Columbia Invitational led by three Highlanders -- Dominika Pawlowska, Dorottya Berczy and Cassandra Sehic who each recorded a 5-1 mark Friday afternoon.
NJIT defeated Johns Hopkins (16-11) and dropped a (18-9) decision to host Columbia.
Pawlowska led the epee squad with a 5-1 mark for a winning percentage of 83% while Marina Arrese and Paula Zugasti each added three wins apiece.
Berczy and Sehic went 5-1 in saber competition, each going 3-0 against Johns Hopkins and 2-1 against Columbia for a 83% winning percentage.
Paloma Almodovar paced the foil squad with a 4-2 mark, recording a 3-0 mark against Johns Hopkins.
NJIT will return to action on December 5 at the Sacred Heart Invitational.
