USAF ACADEMY, CO--The NJIT women's fencing team competed at the Western Invitational hosted by Air Force on November 13-14 and the Highlanders were paced by Marina Arrese and Paula Zugasti with 18 wins each in women's epee competition.
NJIT (15-7) picked up wins over Incarnate Word (18-9), Brandeis (16-11) and host Air Force (16-11).
On the women's epee strip, Arrese and Zugasti each went 18-9 for a winning percentage of 67%. Teammate Dominika Pawlowska registered 16 wins in epee competition. The epee squad combined for a 52-29 record.
Senior Paloma Almodovar led the foil squad with a 15-9 mark for a winning percentage of 63%.
Cassandra Sehic led the saber squad with a 16-11 record followed by Dorottya Berczy who went 13-8 overall.
NJIT will return to action on Friday, November 19 at the Columbia Invitational.
