Edinburg, TX - The NJIT baseball team was defeated 10-2 in the finale of a four-game series hosted by Texas Rio Grande Valley on Sunday.
UTRGV (10-7) scored the first seven runs of the game and never looked back as it completed a four-game sweep of NJIT (6-9).
Matthew Cocciadiferro had two of the Highlanders' three hits in Sunday's loss, while
Paul Franzoni recorded his 12th RBI of the season, one off the team lead.
Jake Rappaport pitched a pair of scoreless innings out of the bullpen and
Brady Bash didn't allow a hit or walk in his only inning of work on the mound.Â
The Highlanders will travel back east and take on Villanova on Tuesday afternoon in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
