Quote from Head Coach Ira Miller: George has lived and breathed NJIT Men's Tennis since he got here. From day one he worked hard to distinguish himself and this year has proven to be an excellent team leader. He prides himself on his fitness and has inspired his teammates to work harder. It's unfortunate he didn't have a Senior Day this spring, but since he originally started in January he will have one more semester in the fall. We will be sure to give him the send-off he deserves.

Svensson, who arrived at NJIT in January 2017, is in his fourth season as a Highlander and was named one of two team captains in the fall.

The Sweden native won four singles matches this season and had a 10-8 record in doubles play, playing primarily with fellow co-captain Abdullah Fouad. 

The highlight of Svensson's career came in the fall when he won the championship for his flight at the season-opening Star Group Invitational, which was hosted by Binghamton in early October. Svensson went 4-0 that weekend to take home the title.
