Newark, NJ - The NJIT men's basketball team will play its final two regular season games on the road this weekend, starting with a 6pm (CT) contest at North Alabama on Thursday.

Watch Game Live on ESPN+
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.  Benjamin Ray will handle the play-by-play.

A simple way to find ESPN+ is on NJIT's official athletics website, www.njithighlanders.com. Near the middle of the home page under the headlines section, an upcoming events calendar lists scheduled NJIT contests. After finding the event, click the camera icon to the left of the event listing. That brings you to an ESPN+ portal where you can access the desired program.

All-Time Series
Thursday's meeting is the fourth all-time between the  Highlanders and Lions, with the previous three coming in ASUN action over the last two years. UNA leads the series 2-1, as the teams split last season's series and the Lions took the first of two matchups earlier this season in Newark.

Last Three Meetings:
1/30/20: UNA 78, NJIT 74 -- Newark, NJ
1/27/19: NJIT 76, FGCU 70 (OT) -- Newark, NJ
1/12/19: UNA 61, NJIT 55 -- Florence, AL

Last Time Out vs. UNA
Despite a combined 64 points from the trio of San Antonio Brinson, Zach Cooks and Shyquan Gibbs, the NJIT men's basketball team was defeated by visiting North Alabama 78-74 in ASUN conference action on Thursday at the Wellness and Events Center.

"We fought hard to the end, but ultimately rebounding and transition miscues got the better of us tonight," said Head Coach Brian Kennedy. "We needed to do a better job in those areas, you have to win your home games."

Scouting the Lions
UNA, which was tabbed to finish sixth in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll, currently sits at 11-16 on the season and 6-8 in ASUN play, which puts them in a three-way tie for fifth place.

The Lions are led by Christian Agnew, who is averaging 13.1 ppg and 2018-19 ASUN Freshman of the Year and 2019-20 Preseason All-ASUN honoree Jamari Blackmon, who is scoring 11.8 ppg.

Emanuel Littles is averaging 10.4 rpg, which leads the ASUN.

UNA is coached by Tony Pujol, who is in his second season after stops as the Assistant Coach at Wyoming, VCU and Alabama.

Up Next
The Highlanders wrap up their regular season slate on Saturday when they head to Georgia to take on Kennessaw State at 1pm. NJIT has clinched a spot in the upcoming ASUN Conference Tournament and will play its quarterfinal game on Tuesday evening at a site to be determined.
