FARMVILLE, VA - The NJIT baseball team lost to host Longwood 11-7 in the second game of a three-game series taking place this weekend.
NJIT (3-3) jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but the Lancers (2-5) scored the next five to tie the contest and ultimately led 7-6 heading into the ninth inning.
In the top of the ninth, the Highlanders tied the game on an RBI single from
Brett Helmkamp, before Longwood ended the game with a walk-off grand slam in the home half of the inning.Â

Albert Choi each finished with two hits to lead NJIT offensively as five different Highlanders drove in runs in the loss.
NJIT will look to take the rubber game of the three-game series on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 12pm back in Farmville.Â
