NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. --- Four different Highlanders scored goals to lead the NJIT women's soccer team to a 4-1 road victory over the Iona Gaels Sunday afternoon at Mazzella Field.
The win was the third in a row for NJIT (3-2-1), securing the team's first three-game win streak since winning four straight in ASUN play last season (Sept. 23 - Oct. 4). The game was also the first time in program history that the Highlanders have scored four or more goals in back-to-back games.
NJIT took a 2-0 lead into halftime on a pair of scores from the Magruder sisters.
Siani Magruder opened up the game's scoring in the 31st minute by netting the first score of her career while
Alexis Magruder added another two minutes later (33') off an assist from
Fiona Wright.
Iona cut the lead in half in the 49th minute before
Tara Walenczyk (assisted by
Chinyere Chambers) and
Bailey Chant (assisted by
Angela Harris) doubled up the Highlanders' offensive production.
Molly Saylor played all 90 minutes and stopped four shots while allowing one goal.

NJIT will face the newly branded LIU Sharks for the first time on Friday, September 13. Kickoff in Brookville, N.Y. is scheduled for 4 p.m.
