WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. ---  The NJIT men's and women's track and field teams ran its first local outdoor meet of the season this weekend, competing at the 24th Annual Monmouth Season Opener at Monmouth University's Oceanfirst Bank Center.

The Highlander men placed sixth out of eight teams with 31.5 points while the women took ninth place out of ten with 17 points.
