NEWARK, NJ—Freshman Marina Arrese went undefeated on the epee strip to lead the women's fencing team at the NJIT Invitational Saturday morning at NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.
The Highlanders (9-8) went 1-2 – picking up its lone win over Wagner (20-7) and falling to Stevens (16-11) and Temple (18-9).
Arrese combined for an 8-0 record while Maria Sztan posted a 6-2 mark on the epee strip. Arrese went 3-0 against Temple and Stevens and 2-0 against Wagner. On the year, Arrese stands at 43-6 overall.
Sophomore Amanda Soliman led the sabre squad, combining for a 6-2 mark.
NJIT will return to action on February 24 at the FDU Invitational.
