MADISON, NJ—The NJIT women's fencing team registered a 5-1 overall mark at the Drew Invitational this past weekend led by freshman
Cassandra Sehic, who went undefeated with a 13-0 record.
NJIT picked up wins over Hunter (17-7), Wagner (15-11), Florida (16-11), LIU (14-12) and Denison (17-4). The lone loss on the day, decided by one-point, came against Army (14-13).
Sehic, a freshman from Highlands Ranch, CO, led the saber squad with a 13-0 record while
Amanda Soliman posted an 11-2 record.
On the foil strip,
Annalena Shigihara and
Marina Arrese registered 14 wins each.
NJIT's
Paloma Almodovar and
Christy Hernandez led the epee squad, notching 10 wins apiece for the Highlanders.
