NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting North Florida in straight sets in ASUN Conference action on Friday at the Wellness and Events Center.
The Ospreys took the opening set 25-18, before winning the second and third sets 25-20, 25-17, respectively, to clinch the match and stay in position for the ASUN Tournament later this month.
NJIT did have an advantage defensively at the net, out-blocking UNF 5-2.
Courtney Branch (four),
Liz Benson (two) and
Adriana Goetz-Morales (two) each recorded multiple blocks.
Leading the way for the Highlanders were
Madi Busler and
Sarah Merritt, who each totaled seven kills in the match.
NJIT returns to the court on Sunday when it hosts Jacksonville at 12pm back in the WEC.
