NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Playing in its penultimate road game of the regular season, the NJIT women's soccer team conceded a 4-0 result to the Lipscomb Bisons Friday evening at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
The defeat moved NJIT to 5-5-3 overall and 2-2-1 in ASUN action while Lipscomb improved to 10-5-1 (4-1-1 ASUN).
NJIT was looking to avoid suffering back-to-back losses for the second time this year but Lipscomb put the Highlanders in a 2-0 hole after the first 45 minutes. The Bisons converted on a pair of shots in the ninth and 40th minutes while outshooting NJIT 10-7.
The Bisons tacked on a second pair of goals early in the second half (50' and 54') to seal the final deficit.
NJIT was led by the trio of
Yasmeen Malik,
Fiona Wright and Tara Walencyzk, who logged two shot attempts each.
