Women’s Soccer Announces 2018 Slate

2018 Women's Soccer Schedule

NEWARK, NJ--
NJIT women's soccer head coach Ally Nick announced the 18-match schedule for the upcoming 2018 season.

NJIT, under the direction of third-year head coach Nick, is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw the Highlanders set program records for wins in a season (9), shutouts (7) while finishing above .500 (9-8 overall).  NJIT concluded its non-conference portion of its schedule with a 7-3 mark and went 6-2 at home.

The Highlanders, who report for preseason training on August 1, will play 10 out of conference and eight ASUN Conference matches this upcoming season.

With construction underway on-campus for the new Soccer Stadium, which is scheduled to open in November 2018, the Highlanders home field will be in Hillside, NJ, on the campus of Kean University – East Campus Facility until construction of the soccer stadium is completed.  Click HERE for directions.

"Our strength of schedule continues to improve each year as our program continues to improve," Nick added. "Coming off the best season in program history, we want to continue to challenge our players. We open up the season playing Monmouth, who is a perennial NCAA tournament team. With the addition of Liberty to the ASUN, our conference continues to strengthen and we need to be accustomed to competing and getting results against strong competition."

NJIT kicks off the 2018 campaign on the road at two-time defending MAAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions Monmouth on August 17.

Two days later, NJIT begins a four-match homestead, welcoming LIU Brooklyn on August 19, Iona on August 24, Fairfield on August 26 and UMass Lowell on August 31.

The month of September begins with three straight matches on the road, first at Rider on September 2.  NJIT defeated the Broncs, 3-1, last season at home.

NJIT will visit America East tournament champions Stony Brook on September 6.   The last meeting between the two schools was 2013.  The Highlanders will conclude its three-match road swing at Quinnipiac on September 9.

The Highlanders will return home and look for the programs first all-time win against Temple on September 14.

On September 16, NJIT will visit first-time opponent UMBC.

NJIT will open ASUN Conference action at home on September 21, hosting Lipscomb and two days later, visit the newest member of the league, Liberty, on September 23, which starts the teams second three-match road trip.

To conclude the month of September, NJIT will visit North Florida on September 28 and Jacksonville on September 30.

NJIT welcomes four-time defending ASUN Conference tournament champions FGCU on October 4.  Two days later, NJIT wraps up league play on the road at Stetson on October 7.  The Highlanders registered a 1-0 win over the Hatters last season.

On Homecoming Weekend for NJIT, the Highlanders will welcome Kennesaw State on October 13 and conclude the regular season hosting North Alabama on October 21.

The 2018 ASUN Women's Soccer Tournament is played at campus sites. Six teams qualify, with the higher-seeded team hosting. When the field is reduced to four, those teams all play at the home field of the highest-seeded team remaining in the competition, with the champion advancing to the 2018 NCAA Women's College Cup.

The tournament begins on October 26 with the semifinals and finals scheduled for October 28 and November 3.
