NJIT men's lacrosse travels to Newark, DE for a first time meeting the Delaware on Saturday, February 17 for a 1pm game.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HENS
Delaware has only played one game so far this season, a 16-12 victory over Mount St. Mary's on February 10.
The team is under new leadership, with Bob DeLuca taking over the reins of the Blue Hens in his first season. DeLuca was previously at Harvard as an associate head coach.
In a tough CAA conference, Delaware was picked to finish last, behind powerhouse teams Towson, Hofstra, UMass, Drexel and Fairfield. Towson currently ranks No. 18 in the nation and Hofstra received votes in the USILA Coaches poll, and the Blue Hens received votes in this week's Maverik Media Poll.
Two-time captain Will Hirschmann is leading the Blue Hens in every offensive category after the first game. The senior has four goals and three assists for seven points to start off 2018.
Behind him is freshman Peter St. Geme who has three goals and an assist and Charlie Kitchen who tallied a pair of goals and a pair of assists.
With the help of Hirschmann and St. Geme, Delaware just swept the CAA weekly awards, with Hirschmann grabbing Player of the Week and St. Geme Rookie of the Week.
Other team leaders are Stephen Tortora who has six ground balls, Austin Haynes with four caused turnovers and Jake Hervada who won 8-of-15 faceoffs against The Mount.
In net for the Blue hens is Matt DeLuca, who made 11 saves in his first win of 2018.
A LOOK AT THE HIGHLANDERS
NJIT men's lacrosse recently played No. 12 Army West Point on Tuesday, and fell 14-5.
Aaron Forster and
Cole Robillard scored the Highlanders five goals, with junior Forster turning out a hat trick and an assist and junior Robillard getting two goals and an assist.
Forster recorded this third career hat trick, and now has a 16 game goal and point streak going that he started back in February of 2017.
The junior leads the team in goals (6), assists (3) and points (9), with fellow juniors
Cole Robillard and
Ryan Darrow behind him. Robillard has four goals and two assists on the year, and Darrow has four goals and one assist. Freshman
Max Wilson is making a statement in his first year, with four points in three games on two goals and two assists.
Marzullo made 15 saves in the loss to the Black Knights, and has posted 12 or more saves in his first three games. The senior captain has 43 saves in three games and holds a .544 save percentage while ranking fifth in the nation in saves per game with 14.33.
On the defensive end, the trio of
Luke Binder,
John Tachon and
Matthew Valdez have started the first three games, and amongst themselves have 11 of the teams 21 caused turnovers. Tachon has a team-high 14 ground balls, Valdez has five and Binder has four.
Adam Gonzalez has been the go-to man for the Highlanders on faceoffs. The sophomore is 16-46 from the circle with four ground balls.
