BETHLEHEM, PA—The NJIT women's tennis team concluded play at the Lehigh Invitational Sunday afternoon.

"Playing outdoors on a sunny day and competing against two strong teams back to back was definitely more challenging for the girls than yesterday, but they were up to it," head coach Zaki Abdelrahman commented.

"I am happy with how our girls kept fighting from the beginning to the end regardless the score. They played some good tennis and they were aggressive when they needed to be."

NJIT went 2-0 in doubles action against Lafayette as Highlander pair Mayar Eltony and Advaita Saravanan combined for wins and NJIT duo Adara Omar and Joleta Budiman.

In a tight 3-3 battle against Army, the Highlanders picked up three singles victories.

Budiman picked up a straight set victory over Army's Bou followed by Eltony topping Boubal 6-3, 6-2.

Omar fought out a three-set tilt against Son, 2-6, 6-3, 10-5.

In singles action against Lehigh, Budiman notched an 8-4 victory and Omar posted an 8-6 victory.

Zaki added, "Very glad to see our new freshman Adara (Omar) and Joleta (Budiman) ending this weekend undefeated, each winning six consecutive matches both singles and doubles is definitely a promising sign for the future. They are such great addition to our team. Joleta (Budiman) improved her singles record this Fall to 11-1, Adara (Omar) 3-0."
