PRINCETON, NJ—A stellar day for the NJIT men's tennis team as the Highlanders won three of four matches on the first day of the ITA Championships, winning two of the matches in dramatic ten-point super tiebreakers.

Ira Miller commented. "Zac (Castagna) played two of his best matches of the fall, serving brilliantly and closing out strong at the business end of each of his matches."
In round one of qualifying singles,
Aleksa Petrovic defeated Lehigh's Born, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 while teammate
Zac Castagna won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, topping Army's Mitchell.
Castagna fought out a three-set tilt in round two of the qualifying singles, coming out on top against St. Bonaventure's Estrevaverna, 6-2, 6-7 (4), 10-7, advancing to the main draw singles.
