The NJIT men's ice hockey club team picked up its first win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Stevens.
After a tight and scoreless first period, NJIT broke the ice in the second with a power play goal from
Matthew Lepinski assisted by
James Lyle and newcomer,
Brian McCarthy.
Not long after, Lepinski scored again on the backhand after driving the net off a stretch pass from
Adrian Wong.
With a 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd. the Highlanders came out hard looking to deliver the finishing blow and avoid a repeat of the night before.
Kyle Hilliard and
Michael Crincoli each added some insurance with a goal and an assist with the primary assist going to Joe Dickinson on the third goal.
Goaltenders
Martin Paro and
Matthew Altomare lead the way with impressive goaltending and each contributed 30 minutes of shutout hockey to propel the Highlanders to a 4-0 victory; their first of the year.
