DELAND, FL—The NJIT women's tennis team (6-10, 3-1 ASUN) edged Stetson (5-13, 2-3 ASUN), 4-3, in ASUN Conference play, Thursday evening at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
"Once again the team played stellar doubles and grabbed the momentum," third-year head coach
Ira Miller commented after the Highlanders win at Stetson. "We fought hard in the singles with Nathalie (Habegger) and Alba (Rosas Garcia) winning in straight sets. But Stetson dug in and so did we. The highlight was surely seeing Rafaella (Sampaio) come back from a set down to close it out for the team in the third. Every starter contributed to at least one of the four points we earned. Our first outdoor ASUN win...with more to come!"
With the win at Stetson, the Highlanders (3-1 in ASUN) clinch a spot in the ASUN Conference Tournament, which will be held on April 21-23 hosted by FGCU in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Highlanders would go on to take the doubles point, as Highlander tandem

Sophomore
