JACKSONVILLE, FL –NJIT (3-28, 0-9 ASUN) dropped a 6-3 decision to North Florida (26-13, 7-2 ASUN) in the ASUN Conference series finale on Saturday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
After NJIT jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the second, the Ospreys plated single runs in each of the next three frames to open up a 3-1 advantage after four innings.

Tyler Stafflinger (1-4) allowed the three runs on four hits while walking three and fanning one in four innings of work.
North Florida broke the game open with a three-run sixth to make it a 6-1 game as Mac Wilson and Blake Voyles each registered RBIs in the inning. Wilson had also knocked in a run with an RBI double in the fourth.

Alex Burman drew a two-out walk, advanced to second on a single, went to third on an error and scored on
Matthew Cocciadiferro's RBI single to give NJIT a 1-0 edge for the time being.
Burman (2-for-3, RBI, 2 R) and Cocciadiferro (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) combined to post four of the team's eight hits on the afternoon.
Voyles and OF Wesley Weeks each collected a trio of hits to pace North Florida, while Wilson added two hits of his own.
NJIT cut the lead to 6-3 with a pair of runs in the seventh, but was unable to get any closer. Burman knocked home a run with an RBI double in the frame and later scored on junior INF/RHP
Johnny Malatesta's RBI groundout.
Junior right-hander Brad Depperman (3-2) earned the win for the Ospreys after allowing two runs on three hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts in 6.1 IP of relief. RHP Matthew Naylor (0.1 IP) came on in relief to get the final out and notch his seventh save of the year.
RHP Cooper Bradford got the start for UNF in a no decision and allowed one run (none earned) on five hits while walking a pair in 2.1 IP.

The Highlanders will be back in action on Tuesday night with a midweek game against Saint Peter's. First pitch at Riverfront Stadium in Newark is slated for 6 p.m.
