Post Game Interview
MADISON, NJ – The NJIT men's lacrosse team fell 11-4 to Wagner on Saturday night at Drew University's Ranger Stadium.
The Highlanders (0-10) were led by
Aaron Forster who had a hat-trick and an assist, while
Matt Brown added another goal, and
Ryan Callaghan added an assist.
Sophomore Forster broke the NJIT career goals record, previously held by
Joe Lomeli with 36, tallying 38 goals so far in his career.
John Tachon nabbed a season and game-high seven ground balls and went 3-for-6 from the face-off circle.
The Seahawks (5-5) snapped a two game losing streak with the help of Andrew Streilein who tallied five points with one goal and four assists, along with Dominic Branda who posted a hat-trick and JP Pawela who notched two goals and an assist.
The game was close in the first quarter, with two goals from Forster, one of them a behind the back shot off a pass from Callaghan.
Wagner scored four unanswered goals in the second and third quarters so take a 6-2 lead heading into the final period.
In the fourth, the Seahawks scored five more goals to secure their win
Cameron Cronk grabbed 10 saves in the loss, while Wagner goalies Matt Sefcik made three saves for his fifth win and Omar Alhagiko made three saves in just over three minutes of play.
The Highlanders take a two week break before hosting Monmouth on April 8 at Drew University's Ranger Stadium.
