INDIANAPOLIS, IN – NJIT fencer
Julia Garcia completed the first three rounds of the NCAA Women's Fencing Championships hosted by Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.
Garcia, who was the only women's fencer to compete at the championships, finished 4-7 after the first round, and produced two more wins in the second and third rounds or a 6-15 overall record. Garcia sits 14
th on the epee strip after the first three rounds.
The junior swept Ohio State's Eugenia Falqui and Emma con Dadelszen and also tallied wins against Safa Ibrahim of Temple, Renee Bichette from Boston College, Victoria Wines from Cornell and Katie Angen from Columbia.
Rounds 4-5 will be held tomorrow morning, followed by the championship rounds.
