NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT men's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2017 season with a convincing 6-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson Sunday afternoon at The Naimoli Facility Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The Highlanders won two of the three doubles contests to win the point and won five out of six singles contests to earn its first win of the season.

NJIT's
Jan Cimrman won in straight sets, 7-6 (2), 6-4 at second singles, topping Gonzolo Quintann.
Highlander
Richard Rangga picked up a three-set tilt over Pedro Carvalho, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 at third singles.
Newcomer
Aleksa Petrovic won in straight sets at the fourth spot, 6-3, 6-4 while NJIT's
Zac Castagna was a 6-3, 4-6 (10-5) at fifth singles.
Highlander
Pablo Arrutia recorded a 6-1, 5-7, (10-6) victory at sixth singles over Sam Koster.
NJIT pair
Lukas Zvikas and Castagna were 6-2 winners at second doubles, defeating Carvalho and Vukotic.
Highlander duo Rangga and Arrutia won 7-6 (5) topping FDU's Diogo Garnel and Sam Koster.
NJIT will return to action on February 18 when the Highlanders host Bucknell at 9:30am.
