WEST POINT, NY - The NJIT men's tennis came up short in the nightcap, 4-1, against host Army Sunday evening to close out the weekend.
The score is the result, which calls for incomplete individual matches to be halted as soon as one team achieves the points necessary to clinch a victory.
Highlander tandem Richard Rangga and Jot Sandhu managed to earn a doubles victory, defeating Army's Myles Conlin and Nikita Pereverzin, 6-3, but it wasn't enough, as Army would go on to win the next two matches, taking the doubles point.
NJIT's Richard Rangga continued his fine play on the afternoon, as he posted the Highlanders' only singles victory, defeating Army freshman Nikita Pereverzin in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
NJIT will return to action on Friday, March 3 at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility, when the Highlanders host Binghamton, beginning at 3 pm.
