BETHLEHEM, PA – Diver 
Avery Bechtel broke the NJIT record in the 3-meter dive in the Highlanders 132-98 loss to Lehigh on Saturday afternoon.
The sophomore diver placed second and posted a 193.94 points score, breaking the NJIT record.
Bechtel also placed second in the 1-meter dive accumulating 201.44 points.
Sophomore 
Nicholas Lyons was the only Highlander to grab a first place victory, doing so in the 100 breast swimming in 59.29.
Scott Quirie helped the Highlanders earn 12 points on the day. The senior grabbed two second place finishes in the 200 IM (1:58.82) and the 100 back (53.78).
Quirie was also part of the second place relay team, the 200 medley relay with Lyons, 
Alex Danielson and Jake Haefner.
Senior 
Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos came in second in the 200 free at 1:44.86 and second as part of the 200 free relay with 
Tyler Pollock, Haefner, and 
Jack Matusiak.
Matusiak earned another six points for the Highlanders placing third in the 50 and 100 free.
Next up for the Highlanders is a dual meet against Manhattan and St. Francis Brooklyn on November 19 at 5pm in the Fleisher Athletic Center.
