POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The NJIT women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Marist Wednesday night in women's soccer non-conference action at Tenney Stadium.
The Red Foxes (3-4) snap a two game losing streak, while the Highlanders (4-3-2) were searching for another win after, dropping the last two matches.
In a lopsided first half, the Red Foxes outshot the Highlanders 10-3 with Juliette Loccisano leading Marist's charge with three total shots.
Senior
Dana Schules had NJIT's only shot on goal, with a hard boot from just outside the right side of the box.
Senior goalkeeper
Karen David posted four saves for the Highlanders, shutting out Marist in the first 45 minutes.
Early in the second half, Keri Bradley scored for the Red Foxes on an assist from Brianna Robinson giving Marist the lead.
Less than two minutes later, Red Foxes Camille Bowen scored off a pass from Hope Quionez to increase the lead to 2-0.
The Highlanders tallied two additional shots in the second half, while Marist accumulated another 10, keeping the pressure on until the final whistle.
David collected four saves in the second half for NJIT. Makala Foley and Ashley Houghton split time for the Red Foxes and each posted a save.
NJIT will return to action on September 12 when the Highlanders travel to Philadelphia and face Temple at 12Noon.
