FAIRFIELD, CT - The NJIT men's tennis team defeated Sacred Heart 6-1 on Thursday, snapping a six-match losing streak in the process.
The Highlanders were undefeated in singles competition vs. Sacred Heart and won one of three doubles matches.
Jan Cimrman made a comeback victory in first singles, defeating Brian Power 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Seniors
Andres Alban and
Arnaud Holl competed at second and third singles, respectivly. Alban defeated Matt Dean 6-1, 7-5 while Holl beat Karan Narula 7-6, 6-0.
Rounding out the fourth, fifth and sixth spot wins were
Lukas Zvikas,
Richard Rangga and
Zac Castagna.
Holl and Castagna picked up another triumph in second double,s defeating Mathieu Pilote and Cory Seltman 6-2.
NJIT will host USC Upstate for the last regular season match before conference tournament play. The match vs. Upstate on Saturday at 10 am in the Naimoli Center will also be Senior Day, with recognition ceremonies for
Markus Schultz,
Andres Alban and
Arnaud Holl.
