WEST POINT, NY – The NJIT men's tennis team grabbed a 4-3 comeback victory over Army West Point on Friday at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
The Highlanders (5-2) outreached Army West Point (5-5) for the win when sophomore
Jan Cimrman won 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 against Army's David Mitchell in second singles to clinch it for NJIT.
NJIT was swept in doubles play, but made up for it in singles competition, taking four out of six singles contests.
Senior
Markus Schultz came out with a first singles win against Army's Grant Riechman by identical scores, 6-2, 6-2. At third singles, senior
Andres Alban was victorious over Kyle Barnes with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory and sophomore
Richard Rangga provided the Highlanders with another win over Michael Sienko, 6-2, 6-2.
